Engelhard 1 Troy Ounce Silver bar ingot, .999 Fine, Commercial bar, maple design (For auction 7-24-2012)

This auction is for a 1 troy ounce, .999 Fine silver bar made by Engelhard.

There are many variants of the Engelhard bars. This is an earlier, portrait orientation "Commercial Bar" (serialized) with the maple logo on the front and a smooth, blank back.

The front side has the Engelhard "maple logo" with the words "Assayers & Refiners" around the bottom of the logo. Below that, there's the text "1 Troy Oz." and a square with rounded corners containing the text "Fine Silver 999+". Below that is the serial number. This one is number 028403, which is an early serial number for this series. According to reference sources, I believe there were 400,000 or fewer of these bars minted in 1981.

The back side of this bar is a frosted/textured finish.

1963 Washington Quarter (90% Silver Coin) Circulated

Make your own lot! Combine multiple silver coins and save. Details below.

You are looking at a 1963 Washington Quarter. This is a circulated example. You can judge the grade for yourself from the pictures.

The Washington Quarter design was introduced in 1932 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth. This design was in use through 1998 with very few changes, and only one interruption for the bicentennial year in 1975 and 1976.

The obverse design shows a bust of George Washington facing left. The design was by John Flanagan and was based on a sculpture by Jean-Antoine Houdon. The initials "JF" for John Flanagan are seen at the base of Washington's neck.

The reverse design is also by John Flanagan and shows a bald eagle facing left, with wings spread, grasping a bundle of arrows. There are two olive branches below the arrows.

Washington Quarters like this one, dated 1964 and earlier are made from 90% silver (know as .900 fine silver or "coin silver"). This example is from 1963 and was minted at the Philadelphia mint.

I accept PayPal and Google Checkout for payment. For items (or combined invoices) over $12, I strongly prefer Google checkout. For items (or combined invoices) under $12 total, I strongly prefer PayPal. Let me know after the auction if you are waiting on other auctions to complete for a combined invoice. I will be happy to work with you. You may combine purchase up to 7 days after your first item.

Shipping for quarters is $1.89 for the first coin, and $0.10 each for any additional quarters. If you wish to add dimes to the combined shipment, dimes can be added for a shipping charge of $0.05 per dime. Again, you may request a combined total invoice after all of your purchases.
